The Keys to a Successful Family Living
Peaceful family living is very much attainable if one knows how to respect individual family members, practice self-discipline and having an open line of communication. Don’t equate peaceful with the term silent for, these two things are entirely different especially when you talk about a successful living. By peaceful living it means living a family life that practice respect for individual differences, knowing when is the right time to interfere with personal issues of other members in the family and of course effective communication.
1. Practice Utmost Respect to Everyone
Appreciation is also vital in a family, as much as possible family members must know how to acknowledge these achievements after all appreciating the efforts of your loved ones means affection. In a family appreciation can be done whenever you respect the views and opinions of your loved ones as well as their personal belongings. Take for example, if a particular member of your family feels lonely then you must not let it pass and just leave them alone. Ask them what’s going on and the reasons why they are having such gloomy face. Even if they’ll share their problems you are not really entitled to fix it, what they need is someone who can understand where they’re coming from.
Another form of respect is being polite to everybody. Those simple greetings like thanks and please is already a sign that you are acknowledging their help and presence. You can even ask them how did their day turn out and just listen to what they are sharing.
Keep in mind that being respectful of one’s ideas doesn’t mean you will always nod your head and agree with them. Everyone has their own idea so perhaps you can also share your thoughts about a certain topic. There are times when your kids come up with superb concepts but there are times too that their thoughts are not that good. Sometimes what they really need is guidance and the wisdom of adults who have longer experience whenever their ideas are not that really good after all experience is the best teacher. Children have a different perspective. If you are able to listen to what they are really thinking you’ll be surprise how wonderful it is and you can even learn something from it. It is also a good thing if you are able to explain why a particular concept will not do good but nonetheless you can let them explore and apply their ideas as long as it won’t harm them.
Seemingly, many people seemed to forget age when they talk to a person older than them or younger than them thus it is really important to practice respect for one another within the family. There are a lot of reasons why these things happen; some it includes the idea that a certain person doesn’t have any good thing to say so people end up not listening to their ideas. Those people have their entire lifetime to experience this one but it would be best if respect is practiced within your family after all parents are the children’s first teachers.
